Yes these are the type you would need to by a tin for and crimp to a
cable before putting in the connector housing. Digikey has the tins
listed from the connector part page.

These connectors are very similar to the 4 pin cables that were used
for CD-ROM audio to the motherboard. I have a bunch of these but they
do not fit, even after trimming them with a knife. I resorted to
pulling out there crimped pins and sticking them on the male connector
pins.

I saw there were other resellers, but did not know the reputation of
those vendors. Also, i know im going to be paying for shipping so I
wanted to buy from a place I could get multiple items.

I probably will end up buying the connectors pieces from Digikey since
I can buy other parts I might need.

Is it the kind where you crimp the pins onto the wire and then slide
the crimped pin into the assembly? If so did you find those too?

Also, it appears that Robotshop has them in stock. I've never done
business with them but a quick google search shows that some people
from some places like Instructables have used them.

They are 4 pin connectors with 2mm spacing between pins. I have an

Ardunio shield that uses them but I would really rather have them
broken

out to the male jumper pins for use in bread boarding. The Seeedstudio

people seem to be out of stock of every type.

I also found the part numbers they source:

So I might just end up ordering the connectors and their respective
pins

from Digikey or Mouser.
