Work session to restore a QVac vacuum forming machine with Dave, Roger
and me. Roger is keeping track of progress at
https://hackaday.io/project/27480-thermoforming-machine-rebuild
So far, we've tig welded a tubular base so we can move the machine
around with a forklift and we've gutted the machine, tested the
solenoids, worked on a couple hydraulic dampers, disassembled and
cleaned the air compressor. We'll be rewiring and re-plumbing most
of the electric and pneumatic system and hooking up the thermal couple
to an arduino temperature control.
We aim to have the basic functions completed in time to celebrate Halloween.
We'll start at 6pm. If you're coming, let me know, I'll get pizza.
If you have any recommendations on the type and thickness of the
plastic sheets suitable for vacuum forming, please let us know as
well.
thanks,
John
