I saw on Meetup that LA Robotics had organized a California Drone Showcase this Saturday from noon to 3pm in Venice.  Specifically it is the Ctrl. Me parking lot at 606 Venice Blvd, E, Venice, CA

Seems like fun and you can hang out at the beach before or after.
