[SGVHAK] 3-D print a magnifying glass?

Can a 3-D printer print a quality magnifying glass?  Would it be made of
clear plastic, or could it actually be glass?  Would one face be planar
(for stability during printing) and the other convex?  Maybe two such
parts cemented together on their planar faces?
