[SGVHAK] SGVHAK regular meetings

Hi all,

We seem to have settled on the 1st Thursday of the month for our regular meetings.  I have tentatively reserved the Hastings Library meeting room through June 2013.  As usual, we'll have to wait a couple of weeks to get confirmation from the library staff.  I requested a start time of 6:45pm, since we need to clear out by 8:45pm.  

The monthly meetings are meant to give us a regular time and place to 
meet.  You are free to organize other meetings through the mailing list 
 or any other means.  If anyone has a workshop and wants to give a tour...  *hint hint*

Last week's meeting was pretty cool.  People were able to hack away at their projects and chat with each other.  Some of us went out for dinner afterwards at Stonefire Grill.

Some issues we had:

1) There is only one set of electrical outlets in the room.  We need extension cords and industrial power strips to bring power to the center of the room, so all the tables can access it.   That said, you might still have a problem if your power cable is too short.


2) We need to work on the layout of the tables and power strips to optimize our use of the space and still get everyone fairly close to power.
3) If we want to use the projector, we should let the library know earlier that day, so they can make sure it's working.

4) Some of us wished we had brought certain cables and electronic components.  I suggest e-mailing the list a couple of days before the meeting to ask about spare parts or borrowing tools.  It might also be a good idea to bring more than you think you will need.  You can leave it  in your car (if you have one) until you need it.  This can include things like usb keyboards and some kind of display, for people working with Raspberry Pis.
